Inventory stratification came to my attention the first time in the early 2000’s. I was doing some ABC analysis for a distribution company and came across the term. I don’t remember which US University pioneered the concept but here is something you can use to do your own research.

Currently QCsolver Inc. is doing a series of data analysis projects for a number of our clients and prospects. What we are working on is finding savings for those items that are not generally part of the normal method of analysis. We are also looking at the possibility for them to consolidate their supplier base or aggregate their demand.
