Last week was Halloween, but the scary continues all year long. Efrata Denny created this excellent handout to remind people of the mistakes they should avoid.
I have done a number of whoppers during my career and they were all excellent opportunities to learn and to grow.
Here are a few of the mistakes listed in the document that you should review.
1. Neglecting supplier relationships.
I want to point out that I met someone a few weeks back who exemplifies what I would always want to see from supply chain professionals. Which is for them to gain a rapport with their suppliers and not think of them as adversaries.
Todd Morris understands what it means to always be on the lookout for organizations and people who can add value to his organization. Kudos to you.
3. Ignoring Market trends.
Ontario Public Buyers Association and the Georgian Bay Area Public Purchasing Collaborative (https://lnkd.in/gZbMSyJs) both held a reverse trade show. This is where the organizations have a booth and the suppliers are able to find out about opportunities and suggest new ideas. Great and easy way to learn first hand about trends in the industry while being open, fair, and transparent.
7. Resistance to Technological Advancements.
Now this is one that QCsolver Inc. faces on a regular basis. I now stress that we are a service company that uses our own software to keep our clients organized and help them reduce their risk (#5 on the list). When people hear the word software they are expecting a large invoice and a lot of work. Our solution allows our customers to use our system for free and we do 95% of the work.
10. Failure to measure and analyze performance
QCsolver Inc. has invested this year so that we have the tools to allow us to grow and to help our customers gain a deeper understanding of what they will need in order to succeed.
Stay tuned for our newest productivity improvement initiatives.
