Where does your industry fit in this matrix? Which of these sectors influences your organization?
It is easy to see that energy, natural resources and transportation are in the volatility section of the grid.
So which sector is missing? According to Statistics Canada there are 19,585,000 employed Canadians as of March 2022. (https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/t1/tbl1/en/tv.action…).
What is missing is the public sector which accounts for 21.5% of the total. What are they doing in the face of all of these disruptions?
More and more of the public sector is taking advantage of specialized software and platforms in order to increase their efficiencies. They are leveraging a collaborative spirit by working with their suppliers and other agencies. They are doing what they can to increase their organization’s diversity and sustainability which will have a long term positive impact. They are attempting to do more with less.
Now all that is needed are a few white papers so that everyone can learn from their efforts.
As an FYI 13.4% of the employed Canadians are self employed.
