If you haven’t heard this term then you will hear it a lot over the next two years. What does it mean to you?

It is the loss of knowledge that your organization will experience as people decide to do one of two things. They are either going to be changing companies because of the increased demand for their talent.

Or they will be retiring because they can or have to.

This same challenge existed in the 80’s when I taught HR courses at Conestoga College. It will always be a struggle to retain and transfer knowledge.

People once thought that Standard Operating procedures were the answer. Yet these documents miss the why and the who as they focus on the what.

What I would be interested in hearing is what are you doing. Please share so that others can learn from your sucess.
