Have you ever wondered how much you should get paid. There are a lot of factors that determine wages. Supply and demand, industry and trends, education and experience all factor in when it comes to what the employer is willing to pay.

I have reviewed surveys being published and I often wonder are they valid. The only true way to know is to see someone’s T4. If for instance you work for the government then your wages are often visible on a website if you make over $100k per year.

For everyone else, it is personal disclosure. I do know that some do lie about what they are being paid. It could be that they are embarrassed, some might not answer the survey because their salary is too low while others might exaggerate in order to change the average and have an argument for an increase.

One thing is certain for sure. Supply chain wages in Canada are going up and will continue for a while.
