12 Stages Of Burnout

This is something that you don’t want to get or to receive!

Years ago I learnt one fundamental thing. Stress isn’t always negative. For instance going on a vacation which is supposed to be fun can also be stressful.

There are a lot of people who will claim that they are way too stressed or don’t suffer from stress at all. The challenge is that you may not know yourself well enough or see your own actions to determine if the statement is true.

Take a look at these 12 stages of burnout. Ask someone that you trust to circle one of the stages that defines you. Then using a separate copy circle where you think you are.

Then determine the delta or difference between the two views. This will get you to at least realize what you might need to change.

For me the next step when I am feeling stressed is to push through and get things done. The second step is to realize that I am not perfect and that there will never be enough time to get “everything” done. And for the third and final step I ask myself what is the best thing I can do right now. Then I go do it.
