I often say, what would happen if I were hit by a bus? It isn’t that I wish something terrible to happen. I know that bad things happen, and it helps if you are prepared.
I try to ensure that I have someone who can take my place and knows what I am working on. I have a trusted individual who can access information if or when required. I review the roles and responsibilities of the people I work with and make sure that there is someone who can assume their role or act as a backup in time of need.
I have also discovered that by doing my due diligence, I don’t often have to put my plan into action. It is almost as if fate is looking and saying to itself, “no point bothering them as it won’t be any fun.”
