What I have discovered is that unfortunately, most organizations don’t have adequate category management. The ERP that they use keeps track by the supplier and General ledger code. Neither of these allows a supply chain professional the ability to do groupings and spend analysis.
Which is why I often volunteer to help. Now I am working on a way to automate the process.
What I do need is more data.
I have made this offer a few times and thankfully I have had about 6 organizations take me up on my offer.
