The concept is where someone actually answers the phone right away versus keeping you in “phone mail hell.” Automated answering is typically what you should not do. Press 1 for this department, press 2 for that department, press 3 for a generic voicemail box that isn’t monitored, press 4 to be put through directly only to be sent to the person who is on holiday, press 9 to spell the name of the person you don’t know as they spoke too fast when they left their message.

When you press 0 for the operator, you will hear press 1…..

Now, if you ever have a chance to call our office, we will do our best to always answer right away during office hours. You might say I am not a fan of voicemail and believe that high customer service means answering the phone.
