The only reason for posting this document is that I believe it never hurts to be reminded. Inspaction Sourcing put together this document as a reminder of what to do. The one I focus on is establishing realistic deadlines.

What I often see are organizations that will take 2 months to draft up the RFP then only allow the supplier 1 month to submit their proposals. Then take another 2 months to complete the evaluations. It would seem that a 4 to 1 ratio is not equitable.

More time for the supplier should get you better results and more bids.
