My recommendation is to assess how many suppliers you have and then determine where you should spend your time. Eliminate the poor performers and reward those who continue to add value. Jack Welch‘s method was to cut 10% of all the poor performers that were associated with his company. This was true for both his suppliers and his employees.

Once this review and consolidation exercise has been done then you will have a lot more time to look and think of other ways to improve your operational efficiencies.
